One focus of the laboratory is in the implementation of a retroviral vector that can efficiently deliver and regulate the production of therapeutic genes in diseased cells.

A second focus of the laboratory is in examining the role of the SH2 domain-containing tyrosine phosphatase PTP1D in cell signaling pathways responsible for growth and differentiation.
